MN Concrete Forum: Construction in Minnesota: Current Trends and Realities

Minnesota is now experiencing its second-longest period of employment expansion in state history. Unemployment is at record lows throughout the state, job vacancies are at record highs, and a wide variety of industries are growing. Among these growing industries is Construction, which has added nearly 40,000 jobs since the Great Recession. Yet challenges loom, most notably workforce shortages. This presentation will highlight current realities and trends in Minnesota’s labor market, with a special focus on the construction industry sector. The presenter will be Timothy O’Neill, Regional Labor Market Analyst at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
