Permission to Cite or Use NCCN Content

If your organization would like to use, reproduce, and/or distribute NCCN Content for any purpose, please review the applicable information below, log in to NCCN.org, and complete the Permissions Request Form. NCCN Permissions Request Policies:

  • All materials that reference NCCN Content must go through the permissions request process (see Legal Notices)
  • All requests must be submitted online via the form below
  • Permission for use of NCCN Content is not guaranteed; NCCN must review intended use for accuracy and context
  • Permissions and use fees vary depending upon quantity, specific use, format, etc.
  • Materials submitted for review must be NCCN Content and not be credited to another source
  • NCCN makes every effort to process permissions requests within 7-10 business days
  • Submitted materials that do not reflect the most updated NCCN Guidelines version may be delayed

  • By downloading the NCCN Distress Thermometer and Problem List, you agree that you are a healthcare professional, researcher, hospital, or medical practice who will be using the NCCN Distress Thermometer and Problem List strictly for your personal use, which you represent and warrant being for non-promotional, educational use only (including with patients, in grants, for research).
  • The NCCN Distress Thermometer and Problem List may not be used for any commercial purpose, including publication in journals, text books, etc., without the express written permission of NCCN. If you would like to request permission for commercial use, please complete the Permission Request Form below.
  • If adaptations are being made to the NCCN Distress Thermometer or Problem List, all NCCN logos, trademarks, and names must be removed prior to production.
  • If incorporating the NCCN Distress Thermometer and Problem List into an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, use is approved for individual hospital use only and not for further distribution by the EHR vendor.
  • Citing NCCN Content in academic publications (e.g., journal articles, conference abstracts, textbooks) for non-commercial purposes generally does not require written permission from NCCN.
  • However, permission is required for the use, copy, transfer, reproduction, adaptation, modification or distribution of NCCN Content such as original algorithms, tables, figures, charts, or substantial portions of NCCN Guideline Discussion texts. 
  • Permission is also required for citing NCCN Content in commercially sponsored articles and publications. You may not copy, transfer, reproduce, modify, or create derivative works of any part of the NCCN Content for any reason and may not use the NCCN Content for any commercial purpose without the express written permission of NCCN. Permission is not required for organizations to link directly to NCCN's homepage, NCCN.org, for non-commercial purposes. For permission to link to NCCN Content, please complete the Permissions Request Form below. Linking directly to any other NCCN webpage or NCCN Content is strictly prohibited without the express written permission of NCCN.

 

NCCN requests that the newest Guideline be used; however, older (not current) versions of Guidelines are available by request for certain situations (legal, books, articles, etc.).
