HopeWest is proud to support United Way of Mesa County by raising $46,037.60 toward the nonprofit’s $1 million goal. These early donations were raised by HopeWest employees during the Pacesetter Campaign.
Over the last 20 years of participation, HopeWest has raised a total of $566,000 for the United Way of Mesa County.
“The spirit of giving is deeply engrained into our employees at HopeWest,” said Mary Wigington, Pacesetter Committee Chair and VP of Human Resources. “As an organization that often relies on grants allocated by United Way of Mesa County, our employees see this as an opportunity to give back to the community and support other nonprofits who stand behind the health, education and self-reliance of every person in Mesa County.”
As a Pacesetter Company, HopeWest, among 32 other local organizations, create themed skits to jump start the United Way campaign and secure donations early. This year, the committee inspired generosity through the humorous skit “Who Killed Hope?” based on the board game Clue. The skit illustrated that “because of United Way, there’s always hope and hope never dies.”
This performance earned HopeWest the “Barrel of Monkeys Award” for the most creative theme and master-level puns in a workplace presentation. The committee looks forward to next year, using their good-humor and creativity to benefit a serious cause.
