We have a rewarding and challenging Associate position in our Business Development group for college graduates. Your main responsibilities will include supporting a sales team through demonstrating our product and negotiating and closing deals in the association industry. Your team will carry a new-booked business quota and also be responsible for renewing customers. You will be required to demonstrate solution-selling skills and effectively build relationships with associations and their chapters to ensure prospects turn into actual customers.

the top universities in the Mid-Atlantic. We hire bright people who are very motivated to succeed. You will participate in an eight-week, structured training program, and you will find that our processes and techniques are as advanced as many Fortune 500 companies.
This position has the opportunity to travel to Cvent’s international offices to provide training and mentoring to our global sales team.
Career Path:
The goal for most Business Development Associates is to be promoted within the sales organization into a Business Development Executive position. Generally it will take between 12 - 18 months to be promoted into this role, once you demonstrate a high level of expertise in the responsibilities of the position as well as the leadership qualities that are necessary in this role. More experienced candidates may be promoted more quickly than the expected 12-18 months. Once in this Business Development Executive role, you will generally be leading a team of up to four (4) other professionals that include Associates, Product Consultants, Marketing Analysts and Sales Support representatives. Very few companies would offer an opportunity to lead such a large team so quickly.
Position Duties:
- Serve as the first in-depth point of contact to customers
- Call on new prospects and develop business relationships
- Provide detailed product information and make presentations for the same
- Lead identification and qualification
- Partner with senior sales team to achieve new-booked business quota
- Provide product information to prospective customers
- Demonstrate solution-selling skills
- Effective build and manage customer relationships
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials
- 6 months- 1 year minimum sales experience, will not consider candidates without professional, post-college experience
- Strong sense of initiative and personal leadership demonstrating the ability to function independently, but must also be able to contribute to team initiatives
- Strong business acumen, ethics and high integrity
- Comfortable using general office software applications
- Excel at developing relationships over the phone
- Ability to handle high outbound call volume with corresponding high talk time
- Must be articulate, organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-changing entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Prior use of sales automation products such as Salesforce.com and web collaboration tools like WebEx a plus
