Job Description:
- Maintain production network according to company SLAs
- Network issue identification and resolution
- Operating system / software configuration, testing and deployment (upgrades, hot fixes, and other updates)
- Environment change control
- Author and maintain operations documentation
- Production infrastructure backup and recovery
- Daily log file and alert monitoring
- Data center installation, maintenance and configuration (on-site)
- Other related tasks to be determined
- Develop (improve) and implement efficient network utilization strategies
- Develop (improve) and implement operations / deployment standards
- Volume / load growth planning
- Hardware / software procurement
- Research, design and implementation of network-related Technology initiatives such as:
- Intrusion detection systems
- Global server load balancing
- Security best practices / audits
- Disaster recovery scenarios
- Fault management systems
- Application performance / load testing
- Other related tasks to be determined
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience
- Deep knowledge of Cisco technologies and internetworking concepts, protocols and methods are required
- An interest in expanding skills beyond network engineering to include messaging, telephony, server administration, and large scale web site maintenance is preferred
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- This position is expected to work overtime and holidays on a rotational and on-call basis to assist with scheduled maintenance and respond to production emergencies
- Due to the sensitive nature of this position, the Company requires candidates to pass a criminal and background check as well as a drug screen
