Job Description:
Cvent, Inc. is the market leader of on-demand event management software and strategic meetings management solutions. Founded in 1999, Cvent is a 475-person, profitable and debt-free software company headquartered in McLean, VA. Cvent offers web-based software with features including online event registration, event management, event website creation, meeting site selection, event sourcing and web surveys.
Cvent is looking for a talented User Interface Designer to join our Technology team, which designs, develops and operates large-scale, web-based applications. The ideal candidate will have experience developing e-commerce sites with strong Photoshop, HTML, and CSS skills to build graphical templates as well as redesign existing pages in the Cvent application. This position plays an integral role in application design, providing product feedback at all stages of the development life cycle.
Position Duties:
- Create dynamic prototypes, static mockups, and graphical templates in HTML/CSS
- Update existing application pages and associated files
- Create images, icons, and layouts for use in the application that adhere to our corporate branding
- Work as part of a team to create and maintain interface and web standards
- Provide usability feedback to the product team
- Act as user advocate inside product development team
Candidate Requirements:
- BA in Graphic Design, Web Design, Computer Science, or equivalent
- 5+ years of graphic design, web design, or web development experience of software applications
- Expert knowledge of Photoshop and/or Illustrator for icons and graphics creation
- Strong knowledge of CSS positioning or tableless layouts
- Knowledge of ASP.NET, XML, SQL, C#, JavaScript, and usability testing
- Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, Microsoft Office, and cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility required
- Must be able to focus on design, functionality, usability, and aesthetics at the same time
- Interest in technology and a hunger for learning
- Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment as well as independently
- Knowledge of user-centered design principles and information architecture
- Technical background preferred
