No visit to Cambridge would be complete without a campus tour of the nation's first university. Founded in 1636, Harvard is one of the world's foremost educational institutions and the alma mater of many world leaders including six U.S. presidents.
Visitors can walk in the footsteps of the intellectual elite and partake in free student-led walking tours that reveal the history and little-known facts of the famous university. Aside from hearing Harvard's fascinating folklore, tour participants get an overview of campus programs and exhibitions as well as a sampling of American architecture from the Colonial period through present-day.
Harvard University features a number of facilities for private functions. Free campus tours start at the Harvard University Information and Events Center. Tour schedules vary. Reservations are required for groups of 20 or more people. For more information: 617-495-1573
