Different seasons in Anchorage feature vastly different benefits for visitors. Those wishing to experience the "City of Lights," should visit during the winter, when downtown lights twinkle as far as the eye can see and the moonless skies offer the best viewing opportunities for observing the vibrant color patterns of the Aurora Borealis. Winters are also a time when skiers, dogsledders and ice fisherman flock to Anchorage's powdery white landscape.

Anchorage in the summer becomes the "City of Flowers." With brilliant blooms lining the streets, the city flourishes with magnificent floral displays and gardens. Long days and mild summer temperatures also offer great opportunities for those interested in hiking, golfing and canoeing.
