Atlanta History Center
The Atlanta History Center is one of the largest history museums in the Southeast. The center includes two historic homes, the Swan House and the Tullie Smith farm, in addition to six historic gardens and the Centennial Olympic Games Museum. Visitors to the Center are given the opportunity to experience the living history of Atlanta as period-costumed tour guides tell the stories of the people that once inhabited the area.
See how meat was preserved in the smokehouse, watch horseshoes be made at the blacksmith shop, and even learn how a loom works. Other interesting exhibits include Down the Fairway with Bobby Jones, which tells the story of American golf legend Bobby Jones, Jr., as well as the renowned Masters Golf Tournament, and Shaping Traditions: Folk Arts in a Changing South, which showcases the evolution of Southern folk culture through quilting, woodwork, pottery and more.
The Atlanta History Center has several spaces available for rent and can accommodate groups of up to 500 people. Hours of operation vary based upon exhibit. Ticket prices are inclusive of all exhibits at the Center including the gardens, Tullie Smith Farm and Swan House. Prices are $10 for youths ages 4-12 and $15 for adults. Children under the age of 3 receive free admission. For more information: 404-814-4000
