Barbados Wildlife Reserve

A natural mahogany forest provides a free-range home to an array of exotic animals at the Barbados Wildlife Reserve. Founded in 1985, the reserve is an animal sanctuary set on four acres adjacent to Farley Hill National Park. More than 100 mammals, 10 different species of reptiles and over 470 birds live freely in the lush forest. An adventure at every turn, the reserve offers visitors the chance to witness the famous Barbados Green monkey, Red-Footed tortoise and endangered species such as the Cuban Rock iguanas and the Brown pelican. Also featuring scheduled feedings, a walk-in aviary, a historic signal station and a salt water aquarium, Barbados Wildlife Reserve is a wonderful way to experience the islands' native flora and fauna.

Barbados Wildlife Reserve is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM. The best time to see the free-range monkeys is during their feeding at 2 PM. Admission is US$5.75 for children ages 12 and under and US$11.50 for adults. For more information: 246-422-8826
