Short North Arts District

The Short North Arts District is an eclectic blend of galleries, boutiques, pubs and restaurants located in the heart of downtown Columbus and within walking distance to the Greater Columbus Convention Center. A historic district that dates back to the late 1800s, Short North is renowned for its artsy, bohemian atmosphere, its signature lighted archways and its famous "Gallery Hop" every first Saturday of the month.

Visitors to Short North can take a leisurely stroll along High Street, the district's main thoroughfare, and pop in and out of galleries and funky shops or settle down at a sidewalk table or coffeehouse and watch the people drift by. Offering a diverse range of culinary delights, Short North is home to some legendary dining establishments such as Rigsby's Kitchen and Short North Tavern. After dinner, visitors can enjoy cocktails at stylish hotspots, including Spice Bar and Surly Girl Saloon, or cap off their trip with a stop at the historic North Market. Operating since 1876, North Market is the only remaining public market in Columbus.
