Estadio Quisqueya

Baseball is by far the most popular sport in the Dominican Republic. After the United States, the country has the 2nd highest number of players in the Major League. In fact, since the Dominican and American seasons differ, many Dominican players play for teams in both countries.

Visitors can take part in this popular national pastime by visiting the Estadio Quisqueya, home to two of the Dominican Republic's six professional baseball teams, the Tigres del Licey and Leones del Escodigo. An outdoor stadium with some covering, the 14,000-seat Quisqueya was built in 1955 and underwent a major aesthetic renovation in 2007.

The Dominican baseball season runs November to February. Tickets to baseball games can be purchased at the stadium on game day. Guests should arrive a few hours before game time in order to purchase tickets. Ticket prices range from US$1 to US$20. For more information: 809-540-5772
