Los Haitises National Park
Located in Punta Cana on the eastern shore of the Dominican Republic, the popular Fun-Fun Cave excursion at Rancho Capote is an intense day-long journey through Los Haitises National Park. The day starts with a tropical-themed breakfast, followed by a 40-minute horse ride and 35-minute walk through the park to the mouth of Fun-Fun Cave. After rappelling 20 meters into the cave below, guides lead travelers on a two-kilometer walk through the cave's spacious corridors, which are packed with stalactites, stalagmites, underground rivers and Aborigine Indian cave paintings. After the adventure ends, guests return home to a traditional Creole brunch.
Tour hours and schedules vary based on season and demand; pick-up times are generally at 6:30 AM. The Fun-Fun excursion is US$120 per person. Included in the cost is round-trip bus transportation to Rancho Capote from several major Punta Cana resorts.
