Housed in a historic 1505 residence, Pat'e Palo is the first European brasserie in Santo Domingo. Opened in 1998, Pat'e Palo specializes in European fare accented with tropical elements, including Angus skirt steak marinated in curry and honey with green chile, coriander and lime sauce; homemade ravioli with lobster mousse, brandy sauce and sauteed shrimp; and porcini mushroom risotto with saffron and Serrano ham. Pat'e Palo's cozy interior features white linens, exposed brick, high arched ceilings and gleaming dark woods. Live guitar music Thursday through Sunday from 6 to 10 PM completes the authentic ambiance.
Pat'e Palo offers several dining areas, including a first-floor patio with space for 50 guests, a second-level patio for up to 12 guests, and a second-floor private captain's lounge with space for 50 guests. Pat'e Palo serves its full menu Monday through Thursday from 4:30 PM to close and Friday through Sunday from 1:30 PM to close. Entrees range from US$17 to US$36. For more information: 809-687-8089
