Taxis to Airport
There are a number of reliable and relatively inexpensive taxis that provide Las Vegas airport transportation to and from the Strip and downtown hotels.

Buses/Shuttles
Shuttles are located outside the baggage claim at McCarran International Airport. Shuttles operate seven days a week and are the cheapest type of airport transportation in Las Vegas. Approximately six different shuttle bus companies pick up passengers outside the baggage claim area. It is important to remember that many of the major hotels offer complimentary airport pick up and drop off. A variety of shuttle/limousine services are available at McCarran, and are located on the west side of baggage claim, outside door exits 8-13.

Las Vegas Train Information

Amtrak stopped running passenger trains to Las Vegas in 1997, when its downtown terminal was demolished. There is no train service to Las Vegas, but you can travel via Amtrak to destinations in California and Arizona, and then connect to Vegas on a Greyhound bus. Las Vegas Public Transportation

Bus Service
Citizens Area Transit (CAT) operates the public bus transportation in Las Vegas and there are numerous bus routes throughout the area. The CAT Bus is a popular means of public transportation among locals and tourists with various bus routes covering a large portion of the valley. The CAT system carries approximately 175,000 people per weekday, or about 10 percent of the valley's population. A one-way fare on the Strip costs $2, and slightly less in the rest of the city. Buses on the Strip run 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Subway/Metro Information
The Robert N. Broadbent Las Vegas Monorail is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Monorail Company. The Las Vegas Monorail runs a 4-mile route between the Sahara Hotel (towards the north end of the Strip) and the MGM GrandMGM Grand

(towards the South). The Las Vegas Monorail provides a comfortable, quick and safe way to travel the length of the Las Vegas Strip.

The new monorail system is reasonably priced ($3.00 per ride), fast, and convenient. The 4-mile route is covered in about 14 minutes, and travels at speeds of 50mph. The first phase of the monorail has just been completed, stops at seven stations, and connects to nine resorts on the strip. In just 20 minutes, the $650 million, state-of-the-art transportation system whisks visitors from MGM Grand to the Sahara.
Along the way, travelers can get off/on at any of the seven stations that connect to world-famous hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. The stations are Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas Convention CenterLas Vegas Convention Center

Cab Service
You shouldn't have any trouble finding a cab in town. Fares start with $2.70 on the meter, and $1.80 is then added for every additional mile. The average price for renting an economy car in Vegas is around $25 to $30 per day, but the sky's the limit if you want to cruise the Strip in something a little more extravagant. Rates will rise on holiday weekends or when there's a large convention in town.
