At a time when children's museums did not exist in Canada, Carol Johnston decided to change this fact. After a trip to the children's museum in Boston, Johnston founded the London Regional Children's Museum in 1982. Today, over 100,000 visitors annually stop by this museum meant to inspire children to "discover, learn and dream." Children under 12 delight in its various exhibits, from Jellyfish Junction to Sifton Street Where You Live. At the Arctic Adventure, children can ride on a snowmobile or ice fish indoors, while the A Child Long Ago Exhibit re-creates a one-room 1880 schoolhouse where kids can cook on a woodstove or play checkers.

The Children's Museum in London has several spaces for private events, including the 100-seat auditorium. The entire museum is available for events of up to 650 people. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Friday until 8 PM. Admission is C$6 per person. Admission for children under 2 is free. For more information: 519-434-5726
