The Palace Theatre opened in 1929 to the rave review as "one of the finest and most complete establishments of its kind in the whole of Canada." Its neo-classic design featured a gold and brown ceiling with opaque glass chandeliers. Renovations took place from 1998 to 1999 to restore the theatre to its original appearance, and work still continues today to update its interior.
The London Community Players bring characters to life on the Palace stage in a wide range of productions, from hit comedies such as The Perils of Persephone to award-winning dramas such as The Shadowbox, a piece in which a unique cast of characters come to term with the facts of life.
The Palace Theatre is available for private events. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and first Saturday Show Day from noon to 2 PM. Performance schedules vary, but shows generally run Thursday through Sunday year-round. Tickets are C$20 for adults and C$15 for students. Group rates are available.
