Royal Academy of Arts

One of the most iconic British Museums, the Royal Academy of Arts, London's answer to New York's Times Square, holds regular art exhibitions throughout the year in addition to displaying its permanent collection in the recently restored John Madejski Fine Rooms. Focusing on British art and artists from the 18th century to today, exhibit highlights include sculpture, painting, drawings, photographs and more by artists such as Sir Joshua Reynolds, Thomas Gainsborough and John William Waterhouse. Other collections that have graced the academy include the first collection outside China of the former Emperors Terracotta Army; never-before-seen watercolor and pastel drawings by French Impressionist Claude Monet; and a collection of unseen French and Russian paintings between 1870 and 1925 gathered from the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Art, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the State Hermitage Museum and the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.

The Royal Academy of Arts has numerous rooms for private events, from the 18th century fine rooms for receptions of up to 350 guests to the main galleries for up to 800 people. The academy is open Saturday through Thursday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Friday from 10 AM to 10 PM. For more information: +44 20 7300 8000
