Museum of Contemporary Art

Founded in 1979, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, or MOCA, is the only museum in the city dedicated exclusively to contemporary art. Its collection of over 5,000 works is housed in three facilities: MOCA Grand Avenue, the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, and MOCA Pacific Design Center. Key works include the Panza Collection of 80 works of abstract expressionism and pop art by artists such as Claes Oldenburg and Mark Rothko; the Rita and Taft Schreiber Collection of 18 abstract expressionist paintings, sculptures and drawings; and the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation Photography Collection of 2,300 document pictures by photographers such as Helen Levitt and Roger Mertin. Exploring the museum's facilities, guests may also encounter works by artists such as Wallace Berman, Charles Ray, Jasper Johns and Mark Innerst, among others.

Both MOCA Grand Avenue and the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA have facilities for private events. Among them, Grand Avenue's Sculpture Plaza can hose up to 500 guests, while the Geffen's Building 5 can accommodate up to 1,000 people.
