Self-proclaimed birthplace of rock 'n roll, Sun Studio is where Elvis Presley recorded his first hit and was the recording studio of choice for a number of other rock 'n roll stars including Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash. Visitors can touch and admire the actual microphone that Elvis used when he belted out his hit tunes, and explore the studio rooms where famous artists made history. Next door, Sun Studio Café, a 1950s diner that was once a popular hangout for musicians, is a great place for a pre- or post-tour meal.
Sun Studio is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM. Admission is $9.50 for adults and free for children under 12. For more information: 901-521-0664
