Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion

Dating back to 1892, the Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion is hailed as the "Finest Flemish Renaissance Revival Mansion in America." Located in downtown Milwaukee, the Mansion is the former home of brewing magnate, sea captain, philanthropist and patron of the arts Frederick Pabst. At the time of the home's construction, Pabst owned the largest brewery in the world. Sold in 1908 to the Milwaukee Archdiocese, the historic property became home to five archbishops before being sold again in 1978 and later opened to the public.

Strolling through the lavish 20,000-square-foot restored mansion, guests will step back in time to turn-of-the-century Milwaukee, where they can explore the ornate décor, artwork and custom furniture of the historic home. From the elaborate coffered ceiling in Captain Pabst's study to the wrought iron and elk antler chandelier of the reception hall, visitors will uncover a stunning array of architectural details as they learn about the history of the city, craftsmanship of the house and the Pabst Legacy.

The mansion makes an elegant backdrop for events and can accommodate groups of up to 125 people. The Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from noon to 4 PM. Admission is $4 for children ages 6-17, $8 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. For more information: 414-931-0808
