Empire State Building
Once the tallest building in the world, the Empire State Building remains the tallest building in New York at a full height of 1,453 feet. Its grace and classic Art Deco architecture make the 102-story building a must-see destination in the city; in fact, with over 110 million visitors total, it is one of the most popular outdoor observatories in the world.
Guests can see stunning views of up to 80 miles through the binoculars installed on the observatory on the 86th floor, or take a trip on the New York SKYRIDE, a virtually-simulated helicopter ride over 30 of New York's famous landmarks. The Empire State Building also boasts art exhibits, two restaurants, a sushi bar and coffee shops.
Visitors who don't get a chance to ride up to the top will no doubt take note of the landmark, as it lights up in majestic displays that change themes regularly. Past themes have included flag colors of countries participating in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the Yankee colors in celebration of winning the World Series.
The observatory is open daily from 8 AM to 2 AM. SKYRIDE is open daily from 8 AM to 10 PM. Observatory admission is $13 for children ages 6-11, $19 for adults and $17 for seniors ages 62 and older. Discounted SKYRIDE tickets are available online at a cost of $16 for children, $22.50 for youths and seniors and $29.50 for adults. Combination tickets and group tickets for both attractions are available. For more information on the Empire State Building: 212-947-1360
