San Francisco Convention Center Information

San Francisco Moscone Center
With over 700,000 square feet of exhibit space and 106 meeting rooms, the Moscone Center is San Francisco's prevailing location for meetings and exhibitions. Built in 1981 and set in the heart of the business district, the Moscone Center hosts nearly one million conference, trade show and convention participants every year. As one of the only convention centers in the nation focused on being eco-friendly, the Moscone Center prides itself in being involved in the community. It was the 2004 recipient of the Green Power Leadership Award, an award honoring the use of on-site renewable energy applications. By recycling leftovers like paper, magazines, and even food, the Moscone Center has been able to save more than 1,200 tons of waste from entering into the environment.
In 2003, the center opened three exhibit halls, the Moscone North, the Moscone South, and the three-level Moscone West hall. Between the three halls, there are six primary exhibit spaces. The North Hall holds two of the six exhibit spaces, consisting of 181,400 square feet of exhibit space. The South Hall provides two exhibit spaces, totaling 260,560 square feet. The West Hall is perhaps the most impressive space, expanding to almost an entire city block with three levels that reach 110 feet above street level. The first floor of the West Hall dedicates close to 100,000 square feet to exhibit space with an additional 199,432 square feet of flexible space on its second and third levels.

All of the Moscone Center's meeting rooms are equipped with hi-tech sound systems and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment. The Center also offers many other amenities including Wi-Fi, event management, a business center, theatrical and lighting services and in-booth broadcasting. Regardless of the complexity of an event, the Moscone Center's primary preferred caterer, SMG, is prepared to take charge. SMG has been providing world-class food and beverage services throughout the Bay Area for over 20 years.
The Moscone Center provides convenient access to downtown San Francisco's many hotels and restaurants and is located within walking distance of 20,000 hotel rooms. Regional transportation is stress-free with BART and MUNI Metro stations just a few blocks away. A recent announcement by American Airlines makes airport travel painless as well; visitors will now be able to check luggage and print boarding passes without leaving the grounds of the convention center. The Yerba Buena Gardens, a public park featuring an assortment of restaurants and museums, is located directly above the Moscone Center providing an ideal break away from the stress of meetings and tradeshows.
