The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is Canada’s premier trade show and convention facility. This world-class venue has been host to such prominent events as the International AIDS Conference and the famed Canadian International Auto Show. Equipped to meet the needs of any-sized gathering, Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s sleek, modern facility can accommodate groups ranging in size from 40 to 40,000 people, and its 460,000 square feet of flexible exhibit space can accommodate a wide range of floor plan configurations. In addition, the centre boasts 64 furnished meeting rooms encompassing 104,000 square feet and two multi-purpose carpeted ballrooms that cover 78,000 square feet and include high ceilings, upgraded features and flexible lighting. The centre is also home to the 1,330-seat John Bassett Theatre with its own entrance and lobby. Direct Energy Centre
Located in Exhibition Place just west of downtown Toronto, the Direct Energy Centre is Canada’s largest trade and consumer show facility and ranked within the top 10 largest continuous-space facilities in North America. With over one million square feet of exhibition space, the centre is host to over 5.2 million visitors each year. Some of Canada’s most prestigious events take place annually at Direct Energy Centre, including the Toronto International Boat Show and the National Home Show. From multiple simultaneous events to large-scale consumer shows, the centre offers extraordinary flexibility, with exhibit space that can be subdivided into up to nine different halls, 23 well-appointed meeting rooms, a 100-seat presentation theater and a 10,000-seat arena.
As an industry leader in energy conservation and ecotourism, Direct Energy Centre lives up to its name. It has undertaken several initiatives to reduce emissions and waste, such as its prominent 30-story wind turbine. The first of its kind in North America, it produces one million kilowatt hours of energy per year helping to displace harmful chemicals that are responsible for smog and acid rain.
