Ontario Science Center
Budding scientists will find plenty to uncover at the Ontario Science Center. The museum, which opened in 1969, is a top Toronto attraction that thrills the senses with an engaging hands-on approach. Boasting more than 800 interactive exhibits within 10 multi-themed exhibit halls, it invites visitors to roll up their sleeves and immerse themselves in scientific discovery. Visitors can touch a living tornado, experience a star walk, age 50 years with an amazing aging machine, or roam an indoor rainforest.
Beyond the exhibits, small theaters show demonstrations of lasers, metal casting and high-voltage electricity. In addition, the stirring films shown at the OMNIMAX Theater take the big screen to astounding new heights.
The center has numerous spaces available for private events. With dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows and the stunning Cloud artwork, the Procter & Gamble Great Hall can host up to 600 people. Other spaces include the TELUS Conference Room, Valley Marketplace Restaurant and Gemini Patio. A building-wide rental accommodates up to 5,000 people.
Ontario Science Center is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM. General admission is C$11 for children ages 4-12, C$13.50 for youths ages 13-17 and seniors and C$18 for adults. For more information: 416-696-1000
