Arlington National Cemetery offers guests a chance to walk among the burial sites of famed figures in American history. Former President John F. Kennedy, whose tomb is marked by an eternal flame, former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, world champion boxer Joe Louis are among the roughly 310,000 people laid to rest at this site. Others interred on the 624 acres range from American astronauts, foreign nationals and members of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Supreme Court. The cemetery is also the site of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where the unknown soldiers from World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War are buried. Other notable sites include the USMC War Memorial, the Challenger Memorial and the Pentagon memorial.

Arlington National Cemetery is open for visitors daily, October to March, from 8 AM to 5 PM and daily, April to September, from 8 AM to 7 PM. Paid parking is available along Memorial Drive.For more information: 703-607-8000
