In the northwest quadrant along the Potomac River waterfront, Georgetown draws crowds of both locals and tourists looking to spend a day exploring the high-end shops, bars and eateries. Georgetown is also home to several embassies, Georgetown University, and the Old Stone House, the oldest standing building in the city.
