Built for Sir Hugh John Macdonald, briefly Premier of Manitoba and son of Canada's first prime minister, the beautiful Dalnavert home has been restored to its original 1895 state. A great example of Queen Anne Revival architecture, the house features lovely stained glass windows and opulent décor and furniture. The museum's extensive renovations and upgrades are detailed in a display that showcases some found objects found during construction such as hinges and keys.
