Beaches are generally not the first to come to mind when thinking of Canada, but the popular and gorgeous Grand Beach is less than one hour from Winnipeg. A stretch of three kilometers of white sand, Grand Beach is a great spot to lie out in the sun, enjoy a picnic at one of its campgrounds, or gather a group for a game of volleyball or tennis at one of several free courts. The beach is also located near numerous attractions, such as Thunder Mountain Waterslides, two golf courses, and five well-maintained mountain biking courses. Grand Beach is open year-round, as even during the winter it remains a popular spot for snowmobiling and ice fishing.
