A combination planetarium and science and history museum, Manitoba Museum presents an all-encompassing look at Manitoba's past and present. Children love the Science Gallery, where they can experience weightlessness or create a cartoon at one of over 100 interactive displays. At the Urban Gallery, visitors stroll a wooden boardwalk, railway station, stores and factories that hearken back to the Winnipeg's prosperous 1920s. At the heart of the planetarium, the Zeiss Model Vs Star projectors illuminate the "sky" with images of over 9,000 stars, the Milky Way, the sun, the moon and planets.
The museum is available for private events of 50 to 500 guests. The Manitoba Museum is open daily, May 17 to September 1, from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Tuesday through Friday, September 2 to May 16, from 10 AM to 4 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. Tickets are sold separately for the museum, its science gallery and the planetarium. Combination admission to all three attractions is C$18 for adults and C$12.50 children ages 3-17, seniors and students with identification. For more information: 204-988-0615
