The Berkshire Museum, a non-profit organization, located in downtown Pittsfield, is host to over 92,000 visitors per year. Established in 1903, the Museum celebrates its 100th year of enriching the lives of many residents and visitors in western Massachusetts as well as for the residents in the border states of New York, Vermont, and Connecticut. A rich array of exhibitions, education programs, events, and performing arts programs are offered on a year-round basis, supporting the Museum's mission to interpret art, natural science, and history. The mission of the Berkshire Museum is to enrich, inspire and educate through interactions with the arts, history and the natural world. The Museum is located in downtown Pittsfield the heart of Berkshire County. This historic building built in 1903 features 14 galleries, an aquarium, a 300 seat fully equipped theatre, classrooms and a museum store.
