Venue Description
Take a deep breath and inhale the aroma of some of the best BBQ the Hill Country has to offer. The Salt Lick is world renowned for it's barbecue and Hill Country charm. Rustic limestone buildings with scenic views or the all weather Pavilion on the banks of Onion Creek provide an enchanting atmosphere for an intimate dinner, your wedding reception, reunion, or any corporate event. The Salt Lick Restaurant has proudly served its nationally recognized open pit barbecue for thirty years on the Roberts' Family Ranch in Driftwood, just a short Hill Country drive from Austin.
As you enter the front door, look to your right for a glimpse of one of the few open pit BBQ's left in Central Texas. To your left, please take note of our menu board. Family style meals are served on the long picnic tables and feature pork ribs, brisket, sausage, potato salad, cole slaw, beans, pickles, onions, and bread. Tea, coffee, and soft drinks are available, but bring your own alcoholic beverages, because Hays County is dry. Top off your dinner with our homemade blackberry or peach cobbler, or pecan pie, topped with ice cream if you like.
