McDonald Planetarium, the hands-on Groundwater Discovery Adventure, and the Lied Super Screen Theatre, the museum has many species of animals set in their natural habitats including the world's largest display of Whooping cranes. The museum also chronicles the history of the early inhabitants of the Nebraska plains and how Edwin Perkins created the famous soft drink Kool-Aid With a variety of venues and up to 50,000 square feet of space, the Hastings Museum has something to please everyone. Choose from the Wildlife Diorama Hall, East Gallery, Abbott Room, J.M. McDonald Planetarium or Lied Super Screen Theatre.
