Auberge du Soleil is an elegant country inn nestled in a 33-acre sunlit olive grove on the slopes of Rutherford Hill, on the eastern verge of the Napa Valley. Located just off the Silverado Trail in the outskirts of the quiet winemaking town of Rutherford, the inn is just 65 miles north of San Francisco, an hour-and-a-half drive from the Golden Gate Bridge. The inn celebrated its 20th anniversary in spring 2005, and unveiled a sophisticated renovation of its 50 guestrooms and suites. Originally opened as a destination restaurant in 1981, the inn became the first luxury hotel in Napa Valley, when it opened its guestrooms in 1985.
