The Lobby {Reinvented} is at once dynamic and serene, an eclectic mix of contemporary and organic design. An illuminated torch-like sculpture that projects vertically from the floor serves as the main focal point. The bar surrounding it is a hub of activity. A short distance away, quiet zones are a haven of relaxation, while other areas throughout the lobby offer inviting settings for social business. The traditional front desk has been abandoned in favor of friendlier and more approachable welcome pods. There’s a full-service Starbucks for the latte crowd, and a staircase that leads to the hotel’s new signature restaurant on the second floor. Always a premier destination for Chicago-based meetings, the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile has masterfully redefined all of its meeting space located on the 5th, 6th and 7th floors to accommodate 21st century meeting needs. Additional multifunctional meeting space has also been added to the 4th floor, giving this dynamic Chicago meeting site a total of 65,000 square feet of event space. Everything from carpet to lighting is designed to energize and inspire and to convey movement. The hotel’s two striking ballrooms can easily accommodate large conferences and elegant social events with sophisticated style and ease. Also converted is the hotel’s 2nd floor, which is now home to the brand-new Club Lounge and a new upscale restaurant. The Club Lounge provides a comfortable, open space for guests to work, relax and even meet in a warm and sophisticated art-filled setting. The restaurant draws from a modern urban feel with a hint of nature. Mosaic tile, rich mahogany and cherry woods and clean, white stone tabletops help create an ambience that is both warm and welcoming.
