Tysons Corner, Va., October 21, 2014 Cvent (NYSE: CVT), a leading cloud-based enterprise event management platform, today revealed its annual list of the 100 most popular meeting resorts in North America and the Caribbean. Cvent operates one of the world’s largest global marketplaces for group meetings business on the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN). Based on meeting and event booking activity through the Cvent Supplier Network, Cvent identified 100 resorts with attractive amenities and offerings that foster an environment for business and pleasure, an important factor for meeting planners and conference organizers to consider. As the demand for corporate meetings and events continues to strengthen, resorts are home to big business and are a common destination for all types of business events, ranging in size from individual client meetings to incentive travel trips, retreats or large corporate conferences.
“Resorts remain a popular and desirable choice among meeting planners for group business because of their all-in-one capabilities that are attractive for planners and attendees,” said Eric Eden, vice president of marketing for Cvent. “Providing an environment designed for conducting business with amenities that event attendees will enjoy, ranging from golf courses to dining, gyms and pools, resorts are designed to meet every need of the business traveler during a group meeting. Cvent evaluated more than 3,500 properties in the United States, Canada, Caribbean, Bermuda and Mexico featured on the Cvent Supplier Network to compile the annual list. Activity was tracked from August 2013 to July 2014 and the list was then determined by a combination of quantitative metrics and third party review scores, some of which included:
Featuring more than 218,000 resorts, hotels and special event venues, the Cvent Supplier Network is one of the world's largest and most accurate databases of detailed venue information. In 2013, an estimated $6.5 billion of group meeting business was sourced through the Cvent Supplier Network and approximately 1.2 million total requests for proposals were sent through the marketplace. It contains listings of resorts, hotels and other venues in more than 175 countries that can be searched and filtered based on approximately 200 characteristics and data fields. Suppliers are able to reach new customers, including the tens of thousands of meeting planners who use the Cvent Supplier Network globally, thereby helping resorts maximize their existing sales and marketing resources.
