Cvent's Thomas Kramer Chosen as One of Washington, D.C.'s Top CFOs
Kramer Honored with SmartCXO Award for Exceptional Financial Leadership
April 28, 2011 – NEW YORK and MCLEAN, VA – Cvent, the world's largest provider of online event management, meeting site selection and web survey solutions, today announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Thomas Kramer, was selected by Washington SmartCEO magazine as one of ten winners in the CFO category of the magazine's first annual SmartCXO award program, which recognizes executives who have gone above and beyond to support their company's initiatives. Kramer was selected for his unique and effective cash-flow management, significant contributions to Cvent's growth, and high integrity.
"I join all of Cvent in congratulating Thomas for this honor," said Reggie Aggarwal, Cvent's Founder and CEO. "While his contributions to our financial growth and stability in recent years have been invaluable, what's most impressive is the fortitude, vision and flexibility Thomas has demonstrated over the decade he has been with Cvent. When he first joined the company, we were a start-up facing one of the toughest economic times in recent history. Despite seemingly insurmountable challenges, Thomas believed that Cvent could and would be successful, and worked hard to lead us to long-term profitability and our current position as a market leader."
Since joining Cvent in 2000, Kramer has been a key driver of the company's strategic direction. He has steered Cvent through two recessions, skillfully navigating tough market conditions while maintaining the company's financial security and strength. Under his financial leadership, Cvent has grown into the world's largest meetings management software company and been profitable for 33 straight quarters.
Prior to Cvent, Thomas served as a strategy consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he created eCommerce strategy and management analyses for leading North American corporations. Thomas graduated with an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he co-wrote Amazon.com's eCommerce strategy case study, which became a part of the core curricula at Harvard and other top-ranked MBA programs.
"Each SmartCXO winner undoubtedly represents the best of what Greater Washington has to offer: an extraordinary work ethic, passionate leadership and success-driven management strategy," said Jaime Nespor-Park, group publisher of Washington SmartCEO magazine. "We are privileged to share in their success."
Kramer and fellow SmartCXO winners are profiled in the April 2011 issue of Washington SmartCEO. Winners were also recognized at an awards ceremony on April 26, 2011 at FedEx Field. More than 400 local executives and guests attended to celebrate the winners' achievements. To learn more about the SmartCXO awards and for a complete list of winners, visit www.smartceo.com.
