Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to: 1. Apply knowledge of motor, physical, and psychological development in safe and effective treatment programs for young athletes. 2. Implement creative games, activities, and competitions to engage the younger patient in their rehabilitation. 3. Perform, demonstrate, and prescribe appropriate exercises to successfully rehabilitate the young athlete from a variety of common athletic injuries to the shoulder, elbow, spine, hip/pelvis, knee, and foot/ankle. 4. Guide parents and young athletes safely from the clinic to their athletic activities. 5. Educate the young athlete on injury prevention strategies and safe progressions of exercise to optimize athletic performance.
Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants who practice in a sports medicine environment concentrated in orthopedic rehabilitation, as well as Athletic Trainers and Personal Trainers who serve a young and athletic population.
