Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: 1) Plan and perform a comprehensive evaluation for a patient with a neuromuscular diagnosis. 2) Apply appropriate standardized tests for patients with neuromuscular disorders. 3) Apply motor learning and motor control principles as they relate to patients with neuromuscular diagnoses. 4) Identify current research trends in neuromuscular rehabilitation. 5) Identify common impairments associated with neuromuscular diagnoses. 6) Develop treatment strategies for improving neurological impairments. 7) Explain functional deficits occurring in the patient with neuromuscular diagnoses. 8) Develop treatment strategies for treating functional deficits and making functional progress. 9) Describe basic principles of orthotic intervention. 10) Describe the basic principles of providing seating and mobility devices. 11) Document functional goals and functional progression in neuromuscular rehabilitation.
