PRESENTER: Jill Monger, MS, PT, ATP has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 1984. From 1987 – 1995, she was the team leader for the rehabilitation team at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). This team was primarily responsible for acute hospital SCI physical therapy, acute rehabilitation SCI, and outpatient SCI training. Jill was also a primary member of the medical interdisciplinary outpatient SCI clinic team during this time. From 1994 - 2008, Jill was the faculty Instructor for the SCI rehabilitation course at MUSC, College of Health Professions, Physical Therapy program. From 2003-2007 she was the principal investigator for a $75,000 grant funded by the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Research Fund, Dissemination of Information Regarding Evidence-Based Practices to Enhance Independent Lifestyles for People with Spinal Cord Injuries. She has been teaching SCI courses nationally for over 15 years. Since 1980, Jill has also been involved with coaching, classifying and training people with SCI for competition in wheelchair athletics. Currently, Jill is the coordinator of the MUSC seating clinic and consults with clients of the SC HASCI waiver, as well as other organizations and private clients in SC.
