Course Summary:
In this course the application of NDT handling to improve functional activity performance in individuals with neurological challenges will be emphasized. Movement analysis will be utilized to explore movement requirements for functional daily activities. This course is for clinicians who desire to improve their analytical and problem solving skills as a basis for effective assessment, treatment planning and intervention with children of all ages who have neuro-motor conditions. Learning opportunities will occur through lectures, movement labs with course participants, group problem solving sessions and discussions.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

Apply movement analysis to identify movement requirements for functional daily activities.

Develop movement observation and analysis skills of a child with a neuro-motor condition during functional movement activities.
·
Improve clinical reasoning as a basis for more effective treatment planning and intervention using NDT
·
Observe the application of NDT to address functional skills in an individual with a neuro-motor condition.
·
Develop Neuro-Developmental Treatment handling skills during movement practicum with course participants and learn a minimum of
four interventions to improve functional performance.
Audience
Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, PTAs & COTAs. Course participants must be licensed and or registered to practice in their perspective disciplines.
