This comprehensive course will guide clinicians through the process of pediatric patients and their families experiencing the complications of neurological issues. Diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Spina Bifida and other underlying neurologic conditions will be covered discussing therapeutic management from Birth through Adolescence. Evidence Based Practice and Clinical Guidelines will be reviewed and provide a basis of therapeutic management. Case studies will be used toadvance clinical problem solving skills needed to address the specific complexities in this challenging population. This course educates clinicians to prepare for clinical practice tomorrow.
1. Participants will be able to identify five therapeutic interventions appropriate to address children with neurologic conditions.
2. Participants will demonstrate clinical decision making within a family centered model of care with this patient mix.
3. Participants will integrate evidence based research into the development of treatment planning and discharge planning with
this patient mix.
4. Participants will establish guidelines for appropriate treatment settings, referrals and clinical collaboration for this patient
