Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Review model of awareness and introduce strategies for assessing anosagnosia: List the three levels of awareness in the Barco and Crosson model and define each level. 2. Outline strategies for treating awareness in the context of routine therapeutic activities: Describe how a routine treatment session can be simultaneously used as an assessment of awareness of deficits. 3. Outline factors that limit generalization of rehab interventions and strategies that can increase the likelihood of carry over of new learning: List 4 factors that can limit generalization of treatment; List one strategy for each area in order to increase carry over. 4. Provide an overview of the PIE model designed to maximize all rehabilitation interventions by systematically addressing the unique instructional needs of individual patients.: Define the three core elements (Probe, Practive, Review) of the general session framework under PIE.
