Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. State why examination and evaluation of body systems that subserve basic life functions are important with children with severe physical impairments.
2. Set functional outcomes that reflect participation and activity unique to this population and the individual child with severe impairments with respect to current and future functioning.
3. State at least 4 intervention strategies that have the possibility to optimize respiratory and postural function in participation and activity.
