Course Summary:
Thisstudy is designed for physical, occupational therapists and speechpathologists who treat children with severe physical disabilities. Thestudy reviews the concepts for evaluation and treatment of severelyphysically disabled children. Focus is on proper utilization ofservices and techniques for respiratory, posture and movement fortreatment results.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to:
Identify the definition, prevalence and pathologies of Children with Severe physical impairments
Complete a comprehensive evaluation using the proper measurement tools.
Determine motor function and limitations to develop appropriate goals and objectives.
Write and sequence a treatment plan after a functional goal is set for one treatment for a child.
Recognize the changes and needs in planning for their future as adults
