All parties—public and private sector, educators and practitioners--are invited to the conference. The world’s built environment includes buildings and infrastructure. This conference focuses on such critical construction, drawing also from the social, political, and economic conditions that inevitably shape disaster resilience and reconstruction. Participants present and learn results of research and discuss community impacts of hazards resulting from natural and manmade disasters, which damage or destroy the built environment. I3R2 solicits contributions from the many disciplines with interest in this growing concern. The conference will especially focus on how the subjects of papers affect decision-making having impact on schedule, budget, quality, and safety of mitigation, response, and recovery activities and operations.History shows that integration, synthesis, and coordination of the efforts of many professional disciplines offer the most efficient and effective means of reducing effects of disasters and recovering the built environment. Creating a forum for exchange of relevant knowledge among a wide array of concerned educators and practitioners will broaden necessary perspectives to enable progress in planning, designing, and recovering the built environment to limit major disaster impacts.Early Registration, through April 6th: US$495Standard Registration, on or after April 7th and until May 11th: US$595Student Registration, Until May 14th: US$175Registrations, after May 14th as resources allow.Papers due by March 7th, 2014.
