The 2016 Biennial Longleaf Conference, sponsored by The Longleaf Alliance, is a regional conference that isfocused on the restoration and conservation of the longleaf ecosystem that once dominated the landscape within the southeastern United States. The theme of the 11th biennial conference is "A Working Forest for the Long Run" and it will be of interest to anyone concerned with the restoration and management of longleaf pine ecosystems.
The conference is set for November 1-4 and will be at the beautiful Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel in the famous Savannah Historic District. The hotel overlooks the scenic and busy Savannah River waterfront. The hotel is connected to the world-famous River Street, Savannah’s most visited attraction, with immediate access to the Riverwalk.

To arrange for an Exhibit space, first, register as a Full Conference attendee and during the process you will have the option of adding an exhibit space to your registration. Exhibitors are provided a single 6' x 3' table which is draped and skirted, with 1 chair. All exhibits are located in the Atrium of the Marriott Hotel which is a high traffic area filled with research posters, daily refreshment stations, Longleaf Alliance Store, social events and the silent auction.

If you have ever been to one of the Biennial Regional Longleaf Conferences, you know that there is something for everyone. In addition to a schedule of diverse speaker sessions, there will be a wide array of activities for both conference attendees and their family guests.
Technical Field Trip
The Thursday field trip will consist of two different trips, one to South Carolina and one in Georgia. When registering for the conference, you will be asked to choose one or the other tour. Both tours are included in the cost of your total conference registration fee. CLICK HERE to download details about both tours.
Professional Education Credits
For those interested in receiving CFE contact hours from Society of American Foresters, the conference and tour combine for a total of 12 credits in Category 1-CF. Each day of the conference requires signing a separate roster at the end of the day. All certificates will be emailed a few weeks after the conference.
Conference Location and Lodging
The Marriott Savannah Riverfront Hotel is located in historic downtown Savannah, on the scenic and lively waterfront of the Savannah River. Enjoy access to on-site dining, a state-of-the-art fitness center and step out onto the waterfront from the lobby atrium. Lodging costs are not included in the registration fees.
