Whether you’re using Blackboard, social media, or some other form of online interaction, it’s sometimes challenging to get students engaged and interacting effectively, especially without multiplying the amount of time that you, as an instructor, spend online reading and marking. In this session, we’ll talk about some best practices associated with increasing student engagement and interaction in online discussions. We’ll discuss questioning techniques, logistic strategies and other best practices that can help improve the quality of your discussions, without increasing the time you and your students spend on them.
