Summary

The European Healthcare Fraud and Corruption Network is glad to share with you the program announcement of the 2017 EHFCN Conference on the theme Future challenges in Europe to counter waste and fraud in healthcare.

In Europe free movement of healthcare providers, patients and health products is a fundamental right. Apart from bringing opportunities, it can also generate unwanted effects, in particular in terms of transnational social fraud.  Additionally the digital revolution facilitates malpractices across borders. The austerity measures which affect the European healthcare systems to ensure their financial sustainability, urge the countries in Europe to tackle fraud, waste and corruption in healthcare as they are a source of important financial losses.  Every EURO counts and has to be reinvested in quality healthcare for the benefit of every patient in Europe.

In Paris, we will focus on fraud and waste in healthcare and more in particular on the evolutions of the various European counter-fraud strategies.  We will also discuss the levers to face the political expectations as well as the new challenges in Europe for countering waste and fraud in healthcare

This Conference will therefore not only evaluate the actual level of fraud resilience in public health but will also look ahead at what the future might bring to effectively approach these topics.

Key word is PARTICIPATION: we want to stimulate exchange between speakers and the audience through interactive panel discussions and Q & A using a mobile application.

Participants will be EHFCN Members, EHFCN associates and key players in the field of countering fraud, waste and corruption in healthcare in Europe.

Join us: we are looking forward to meeting you in Paris!
