    BWI to Hotel Bus Departure - 2:00 p.m., Sunday

    Select this option if you are reserving a spot on the 2:00 p.m. bus on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

    It is recommended that you arrive at the loading area by 1:30 p.m. (30 minutes prior to departure) if possible. The bus will depart promptly at 2:00 p.m. Approximate arrival time at the hotel is 3:30 p.m.

    Welcome Reception - Sunday

    If you're arriving at the hotel on Sunday, July 15, 2018, plan to join us for the 16th International Detonation Symposium Welcome Reception. It's a great opportunity to kick off the week and meet other attendees in a relaxed setting--outdoors overlooking the Choptank River (weather permitting). Light refreshments will be provided, along with a cash bar.

    This event is included with Attendee, Session Chair, Student, and Exhibitor registration. Please select this option if you will be attending the Welcome Reception.

    Adult and child companions of attendees may attend this event; please purchase their tickets in advance in the Companion registration section before completing your registration for the Symposium.

    Session Chair Breakfast - 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday

    Only for Session Chairs attending Monday.

    Please attend to meet other Session Chairs during this Monday (July 16) morning event to kick-off the 16th IDS program. Organizing Committee co-chairs will discuss the Session Chair role and provide guidance on what Session Chairs will need to do during and after their session.

    Lunch Buffet - Monday

    Only available if attending Monday.

    All registered attendees are invited and encouraged to attend the buffet lunch on Monday, July 16, 2018, included with your registration.This is a great networking opportunity, where you'll have the chance to get to know other attendees and discuss common interests over a shared meal.     Choptank Riverboat Dinner Cruise - 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday

    Join us on a memorable evening cruise while enjoying a delicious dinner prepared by Suicide Bridge Restaurant, a favorite local Delmarva (Delaware-Maryland-Virginia peninsula) establishment which has been serving the peninsula for over 65 years!!! Board their authentic reproduction "Paddle Wheeler", measuring 80 feet long--these boats were used during the turn of the century for traveling! The vessel has a fully enclosed lower deck with heating and air conditioning, a covered open air upper deck with an incredible view of the Choptank River and Maryland's Dorchester and Talbot counties! Your scenic vista will be the grand Tidewater style homes still lining the river banks, Bald eagles, osprey and Great Blue heron! You will also learn some history and fun facts about the area from a local resident who will be our guide and host during the cruise!

    Please join us as we celebrate our time on the Eastern Shore of Maryland by partaking in some of the signature bests of the area--Maryland style cooking and cruising on the beautiful Choptank River!

    The boat will begin loading at 5:45 p.m. with prompt departure planned at 6:00 p.m. Return time to the hotel is approximately 9:00 p.m. The location of the dock on the hotel's property will be provided in the registration packets for those with confirmed registration for this event. In the event of inclement weather that prevents the boat from departing, an alternative activity will be provided.

    Pre-select your choice of entree when registering for this event. For the full menu, download the Choptank Riverboat Dinner Cruise flier. Dietary restrictions indicated earlier in the registration process will be accommodated.

    Register for this optional activity on or before July 15, 2018. After this date, you will be added to the waitlist but may not have a choice of entree in the event a spot becomes available.

    Downtown Cambridge Bus - Dinner on Your Own - 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday

    Interested in doing your own thing on Monday night? Would you like to see a little of the community surrounding the hotel but won't have a car during the Symposium?

    As an alternative to the Choptank Riverboat Dinner Cruise, choose a restaurant in Cambridge, Maryland’s quaint downtown for dinner on your own. Complimentary bus transportation will be provided on a limited basis, first-come, first served. Advance registration is required; please sign up when you register. If you wish to bring a guest, be sure to add them as a Companion to your registration and sign them up for this activity. Due to limited capacity, only those attendees and guests registered for this activity will be able to board the bus.

    If you sign up for the bus for Monday night, when you arrive at the hotel we recommend that you select one of the restaurants listed here in advance and work with the hotel's concierge to book your reservation at a time consistent with the bus schedule.

    The locations for pick-up and drop-off will be provided upon check-in at the On-site Registration desk for those who sign up for this optional activity in advance. There is a maximum capacity of 50. Once full, you may sign up for the wait list. There are also several excellent restaurants at the hotel for those unable to secure a spot on the bus and not attending the Choptank Riverboat Dinner Cruise activity.

    Poster Session & Reception - Tuesday

    Only available if attending Tuesday.

    More than 60 posters will be on display beginning Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Once sessions have ended for the day, join us and the Poster presenters for the Poster Session and Reception. Enjoy light refreshments (available between 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.) and a cash bar (available until 9:00 p.m.) while engaging with the Poster presenters to learn more about their work. The Poster Session and Reception have been scheduled to allow for attendees to participate before or after they've had dinner.

    This event is for registered attendees only and is included with registration; please indicate your plan to participate. This event is not open to companions of attendees.

    Only available if attending Thursday.

    The Cocktail Reception, Dinner & Keynote event is included with attendee registration.

    This event will begin with a Cocktail Reception (cash bar), followed by dinner and the keynote presentation.

    Please select this activity to indicate your plan to attend, and pre-order your entree. Click here to view the full menu, including entree options. You will be asked to choose your entree before completing your registration.

    Attendees are welcome to bring companions; please purchase tickets for any adult or child companions as part of Companion registration before completing your registration.
